Greetings to all the citizens of India on this auspicious occasion of our 77th Independence Day. Today, we celebrate the freedom and glory of our nation, which was achieved after a long and hard struggle by our brave freedom fighters. We salute their sacrifice and dedication, which made it possible for us to live in a sovereign and democratic country. We also pay tribute to the leaders who shaped the destiny of India, such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and many others. They inspired us with their vision, courage, and patriotism.

On this day, we also remember the achievements and challenges of our country in the past seven decades. We have made remarkable progress in various fields such as science, technology, education, health, sports, and culture. We have also faced many difficulties and threats, such as poverty, corruption, terrorism, communalism, and natural disasters. We have overcome them with our unity, resilience, and spirit of service. We have also contributed to the global peace and development through our active participation in various international forums and initiatives.

Today, as we enter the 77th year of our independence, we have new opportunities and responsibilities to fulfill. We have to work together to realize the dreams of our founding fathers and mothers. We have to make India a strong, prosperous, and inclusive nation that respects diversity and upholds human dignity. We have to protect our environment and natural resources for the future generations. We have to promote harmony and cooperation among all sections of society and with our neighbours. We have to uphold the values of democracy, secularism, and justice that are enshrined in our constitution.

My dear fellow Indians, let us pledge on this day to dedicate ourselves to the service of our motherland. Let us follow the path of truth, non-violence, and compassion shown by Mahatma Gandhi. Let us strive for excellence in every field of endeavour. Let us be proud of our rich heritage and culture. Let us be the ambassadors of peace and goodwill in the world. Let us make India a shining example of a free and vibrant nation.
